Karl Habegger

Here you are, reading about me on the internet. You've come to this page seeking answers to the age old question: "Who is this Karl and what does he do?". Obviously, this is no time to be coy. I should lay it all out there without the pretense of false modesty. I am one of the most talented, intelligent, and interesting people you could ever have the good fortune to meet. If you take nothing else away from this page, remember that. 1. Talented. 2. Smart. 3. Interesting. Working with me is a dream come true. You should definitely HIRE ME.

How did I become so artistically talented? Nature and nurture. That's right, I came out with a creative spark that slowly was fanned into the inferno of genius that burns today. After concentrating on art during my primary schooling (even during Biology), I went to college at Indiana University's Herron School of Art in Indianapolis. Since then I've continued to hone my already impressive skills whenever possible.

How did I become so technically brilliant? In 1995, shortly after Al Gore completed his magnum opus, this brand new company named "Yahoo!" had started listing sites they thought were really cool. I was digging it! I started looking at Spam-ku haiku and though that I'd like to try my hand at coding HTML. Since then I've pulled myself up by my bootstraps, learning to administrate complex UNIX operating systems, learning to code in scripting languages including PHP, and basically becoming the goto guy for cascading style sheets. Along the way I picked up WordPress and the rest is history. With over 18 years of web design experience under my belt, I am uniquely positioned to solve problems other people cannot.

How did I become so interesting? The secret to my allure is reading. My parents, being even more intelligent than I, did not buy a television, so my formative years were spent with my face in a book. At one point I was reading five books a week. In my lifetime I have accumulated over a grand in library fines. This immersion in literature both high and vulgar has led me to write. My stories are destined to be considered the pinnacle of Western wordsmithery.

In summary, if you like amazing art, brilliant web design, and stories that touch your very soul then welcome to your new home. If you hate that sort of thing please show yourself out.

Find Karl around the Internet

Karl manages and contributes to the collaborative art site Antithesis Art. This loosely bound group of artists share projects they are working on, artwork from around the web that they find inspirational, and occasionally have a themed illustration assignment.

Karl looks forward to marketing original artwork, prints, books, t-shirts, and assundries at Fishvan once it becomes an operational online store.
